About

Hello, I’m Gareth.

I’m a full stack web developer based in South Wales. I’ve had a freakish obsession with the web for over twenty years, and I’m at my best building things in PHP and Laravel, with a bit of JavaScript wherever a screen needs to feel quick.

Over the years I’ve built websites for Welsh Assembly Members such as Carwyn Jones and John Griffiths, and for dozens of businesses across South Wales. These days most of my time goes into building products: an HR and workforce platform for UK businesses, and a commission-free ordering system for restaurants and takeaways. You can see them on the work page.

Behind the camera

Photography is something I picked up later in life, and it has become something of an obsession. I like ordinary things seen properly: a bubble in the grass, a footbridge at the right angle, a dog that thinks it’s in charge of the paddleboard. The photographs page has the lot.

Now

  • Building Fabioso, a restaurant ordering platform with no commission.
  • Looking after atlasHR and the businesses that run on it.
  • Tinkering with a Raspberry Pi server operating system, mostly at weekends.
